What a difference 6 months make!

I saw a photo op today I couldn't pass up.  I saw a daddy's girl snuggling her daddy, and then I remember a newborn doing the same thing.  Isn't it wild what a difference 6 months make?  Love these two!

Pumpkins, chickens, and Pigs Oh MY!

We had a great week, Loralei was healthy and back to her old self!  She had a big week at school and played so hard at Farm Days that she passed out playing when she got home.   We ended our week with a visit to the pumpkin patch Walden Farms.  The very talented Marissa French took her sweet 6 month pictures in her Halloween costume, and a fun festive outfit we pulled together at the last minute, with the help of Aunt Mandi! She looked so sweet, I can't wait to post the pictures when we get them back.

Daddy is on fall break this week, so we are headed to Kentucky to visit Nanna, and Pop D at the end of the week

6 months Old

Part I
Loralei you are officially half a year old. You are such a joy to our lives, I don't think any of us could have imagined how our lives would have changed 6 months and 1 day ago!  You are such a sweet girl, and have the best personality. You love to be snuggled, read to, and sang to.  Your favorite song is "You are my sunshine" and the "Peanut Butter and Jelly Song."  You are sleeping from 9pm-7:30am every night, and only wake up if your diaper is really wet.  You're such a good baby!!!  You loooooove your baby food, and really like squash and sweet potatoes.  You had your first bite of mashed potatoes last week and like a real southern girl you REALLY liked them. Part II
Loralei is still a little under the weather.  Last Wednesday night, our usual happy baby became a screaming, crying, inconsolable baby.  We were so SURE it was her 1st tooth trying to break through, but we'd be WRONG.  After a very restless night, we went right in to see the Dr. and he diagnosed her with a DOUBLE ear infection. OUCH that explained a LOT.  Once we were home, and had a LOOONG nap, and a dose of antibiotic her mood turned right around, and she is back to her bubbly self.  The 6 month shots had her down today, but that is just temporary (we hope).  Here's to healthier days! 

It is another big week around here with Daddy and Mommy's birthday celebrations, and her 6 month photo shoot at the pumpkin patch!  Check back soon for our sweet 'Lady Bug.'    Wishing you all a blessed week!

Tummy Twuble

As Ming Ming of the Wonder Pets would say "This is Sewius" Loralei had her first "sick day" from school this week. I had to pick her up a little early due to a few 'blow outs' that turned out to last ALLLL week.  Not sure what caused it, the pediatrician said it could have been a 100 things, but the good news is there was NO fever, No ear infection, No lack of appetite, or dehydration to go with it, just an upset tummy. :(  Our baby girl never acts like she is sick, so when she is, it is so hard to tell. Maybe it is just a festering 1st tooth trying to come through? 

Mom and Dad went out to celebrate their 2nd Wedding anniversary this weekend, so Loralei had a sleep over at BeBe and Pops.  On Sunday she took a road trip with Daddy to see her Nanna and Pop D.  To say this baby is loved is an understatement.  She is so blessed, and I think she knows it :)  Here's to our last week as a 5 month old.  Next week we celebrate our half Birthday! WOOT!!!

The Holidays are coming, get to shopping!

Ok, so it depends on which Holiday you are referring to.  We still haven't found a Halloween Costume, but we know what Loralie is going to wear on Thanksgiving, and we bought her 1st Christmas Ornament. LOL   So now we can focus on her 1st Halloween Costume.  Dave is going to be an astronaut, so he is leaning toward making the baby an alien or a fairy (I have no idea, where the Fairy came from???)!

This week was pretty low key, just the new "norm" around here.

5 Months Old!

Loralei you are 5 months OLD!  I can't believe it, you are growing sooo very fast, everyday you become more and more of a character and your little personality is starting to shine.

5 Month Stats:

• You weigh somewhere around 18lbs
• You are still wearing size 3 diapers
• Clothes size is pretty dead on 6 months with a few 6-9 depending on the brand.
• You smile ALL the time at anyone!!  
• You LOVE stuffed animals
• You HATE having your neck cleaned
• You could live without a nap, but eventually give in
• You are starting to sit up on your own, and LOVE your toys, and JumpaRoo

Baby girl is talking all the time now!  Pop and BeBe captured this video while mom and dad took a quick trip to the Beach for the 4 day weekend.  We missed her LOTS and watched this video about 15 times before we got home!  She is just so interactive and fun to play with we miss her when we are gone!  ENJOY!
