"My Show"

This summer Loralei participated in her very “own show” she was part of the ensemble for Rodgers and Hammerstein’s “Oklahoma.”  To say she had a blast would be an understatement.  Mommy was also in the show, and got to sing and dance along side her very talented big girl. Loralei sang her heart out, and enjoyed every second.  She has already started to ask when her “show practice” starts again.  ;)  She has been bitten by the bug, and I so love it. J

Vacay part 2

We did find a few activities to do on land.  We made the most of the local eats, and entertainment.  I will let these pictures speak for themselves. :)

Riding "horses" with Rachel, Harper, Nana, and Cora
Cora was "cautious" in her enjoyment
Build a "bear"

riding go karts with daddy

Daddy and his sleepy girls
This was about 9pm and Cora cried every time this horse stopped. Poor baby was tired.
Pier walking

Ice cream sampling
The whole crew

It was a great trip, with wonderful memories. :)

Vacay part 1

We packed our wagons and headed East to Surfside Beach, SC for our family vacation with the DeForest family. We had a FULL week of (mostly) sunny beach fun.  The car ride wasn't too painful, and we passed time with movies, snacks, and naps.  My girls could not have had a bigger yin and yang difference over the water. Loralei hit the water as soon as we got there, and never came out. Cora wanted NOTHING to do with it.  She did however LOVE the sand. I mean, loved it. How it felt, tasted (eww), and what she could do with it. She warmed up to the ocean as the week went on, but never really loved the pool.  Maybe next time?

Dance Recital Fun!

Loralei had her year end Dance recital.  It was precious and this year she did two routines one ballet, and one tap.  They girls were adorable in their costumes, and Loralei was so excited to wear make-up.  My baby is growing up on me, time is a thief, and I am not a fan. Mommy and Daddy are so proud of you Loralei. :)

Graduation

My heart has officially started to break. My "baby" graduated Pre-K and is officially headed to Kindergarten. Her program was cute, and I tried to contain my tears (for the most part).  I can never say thank you enough to her teachers at Goddard and their lasting imprint on our girl.

Time for your check up!

The girls had their 15 month and 5 year check ups! They are both very healthy, happy kiddos.  My Loralei has DeForest genes and she is on track to be somewhere in the 5'11" to 6' range.   Cora is not too far behind coming in at 31.5" and weighing in at 24lbs.  Dr White couldn't believe how much Loralei had grown in 1 year. she had gained 7 lbs, and grown 4.2 inches in 1 year!!!  Dr. White said she is the size of an average 7 year old!!! LOL

Both girls had to get shots :(, but were as brave as they could be.  Thank you Lord for healthy, happy girls! :)

The biggest heart in Tennessee

This girl oh I how I love this big girl.  She has the biggest heart out of anyone I know, but she is easily hurt because of her big heart.  Some may call her “whiney” but she is just a sensitive soul.  She loves all things girly, shopping, frilly, and PINK! She also loves Star Wars, and super heroes J. She is a girls girl, thinks she is 14, and a heck of a dancer.  She will probably never leave home because she is attached to her mommy like peanut butter to jelly.  She gives the best hugs, and loves to be snuggled up even if she is almost 4 ft. tall! LOL  She can be silly, but she’d rather be creative and imaginative. This girl, she is my mini me, and I “get her.” J
