My little and big valentines and I had a great holiday.  The girls had their class parties and some bonus sugar from the Grandparents. ;)    On 2/14/16 I took Loralei to "Disney LIVE Stage show" as a reward for all the hard work she had done in her nightly reading, and prep for her upcoming Magnet school test.  We are so very proud of her.

All dogs go to heaven

I have sad news to report.  Our sweet puppy Riggs has gone to Heaven.  He left us a couple weeks ago during bad snow.  This was Loralei's first experience with loss so we tried to handle it as carefully as possible. Although the concept is still a bit too big for her, she knows he is in Heaven with Jesus and he is ok.  The reality of the situation may hit a little harder on our next trip to Nana and Pa's.  Until then, this picture is by her bed, and she likes to talk to "her Riggs."

Something happened between Christmas and the end of January.  My baby turned 1.  I seriously don't know how this happened.  Cora the first year of your life, has literally gone by in a blink of an eye.  After what seemed like the longest pregnancy in history, nothing could have prepared my heart for what was waiting on the other side.  I never imagined how my heart could grow to love you.  I could never fathom how you would complete our family with your sweet smile, and disposition.  You are pure joy, and you bring a smile to the face of everyone you meet.   I love you to the moon and back "sunshine."

Christmas Day we make the drive up to KY to celebrate Christmas with the DeForest family. We had a great time opening gifts with family, visiting extended family.  It was so good to see everyone and catch up.

Christmas Part 1

My very belated Christmas post. :)  We had a great Christmas.  As in years past we spend Christmas Eve with my family.  We enjoyed a "pig" hearty breakfast at Pop and Bebe's and opened gifts with cousins Rylan, Bristol.  We all enjoyed taking a few hours to sit, relax and enjoy each other's company.  We ended our Christmas Eve with a trip to Church. I hope the girls always understand Christmas is about more than presents, trees, and lights.
