She's here! We are home, we are in love and the world is spinning the right direction again.
Her birth story:
Wednesday night January 14th, 2015 I started to have some "regular" contractions and other "stuff." I alerted the nurse and staff to my discomfort and they let me rest for the night. I didn't rest much, I was up walking the floor at 2am, 4am, and 6am. I was having early labor signs that I had with Loralei. I knew something was up, I just didn't know we were about to meet our baby girl. Around 7:45am on January 15th, I alerted the day shift that I was extremely uncomfortable, and still having issues. They called my doctor who assessed the situation and decided it was GO TIME. I called Dave at school, the grandparents, the photographer, and told them it was TIME. The "prep" team got straight to work on me.. There was little time to waste as we waited on daddy to get here from school. We saw Loralei in the hall on the way to the OR and gave her the biggest hugs and kisses. She was so excited. We were off, in the OR by 10 am. Our baby was here at 10:18 and the rest is history.
Her Name:
Cora Staton DeForest. The first name we knew before we knew she was a she (thanks Downton Abbey) . The middle name we tossed around various combos. We liked, Rose, Leigh, Staton, the list goes on. We finally settled on Staton. That is David's maternal grandfathers last name, and his mother maiden name. We like how it sounded with Cora. We did our best to keep it to ourselves, but our big sister wanted to shout it from the roof tops! :)
