4th of July Vacation

We have just returned from our DeForest family 4th of July vacation.  We rented a house in Surfside Beach, SC.  We had 5 wonderful days of sand, swimming, and fun.  It was so nice to take a few days to relax and enjoy family and the 4th of July.  We are already planning our return visit to this awesome spot.
Everyone jumped in the pool as soon as we go there.

5 months

Bright eyes is 5 months old. She weighs 13lbs and is in mostly 6 month clothes (girlfriend is LOOONG).  She is such a sweet baby, she loves to talk, smile, and giggle.  I am pretty sure she melts every heart we see with that smile.  We have started to eat a little baby food and cereal and she seems to like it ALL so far.

sissy and Lulu at 5 months.

Ballet

Loralei has completed her first year of Ballet. We ended the year with her ballet recital. It was so precious.  She had zero stage fright and rocked her routine. She had the best (and most patient) teacher.  We can't wait until next years recital.

Ballet Recital Video (sorry it is so grainy) She is in the back row, tall kid in the middle that is super animated. lol

Memorial Day

Memorial Day was two fold this year.  We spent a few days in KY with the DeForest and made it back to town to run/walk the 5K to support the Cumberland Crisis Pregnancy Center with our church.   It was a great weekend. The girls had fun at Nanna's and visiting their cousin, Aunt and Uncles.

Big girls alert

I hate time.  When I was "little" all I wanted to do was grow up.  Now that I am "grown" I would love nothing more for it to slow down.  My girls are growing up so fast before my eyes.  I catch myself watching them sleep a little longer and trying to capture all the mental images I can before they are fleeting.

Big Sister was so excited!
Loralei requested a hair cut. Unprompted. She sat there and chatted like a 24 year old. LOL
Up in the bouncy seat (with a book for a foot prop) :)

Mother's Day

It is a rare thing to find a Church family that not only rallies around mom and dads, but also stakes a claim in your children's lives.  Northfield is a unique body of Christ.  They set mom and dad up with the tools needed to set your children on the right path.  Mother's Day we were honored to have Cora dedicated to the Lord and to the congregation at Northfield.  It was a special service, and experience for all of us.  We had Loralei dedicated when we came to this church about 3 years ago.  They really make it special for the kiddos and their families.  From the photos to the embroidered blanket.   We were mommy, daddy, and baby VIP's for the day.
Happy Mother's Day to me :)
